Nexus vs Nova: how to choose

Compare the available speed tiers below. Package availability, equipment and any once-off activation charges are confirmed with MetroFibre for your address before order submission.

Nexus packages

Nexus offers 30, 40, 60, 100, 150, 250, 500 Mbps and 1 Gbps/500 Mbps options. It suits homes that want more steps between entry-level and 100 Mbps packages.

Reference monthly price starts at R549 (VAT included).

Nova packages

Nova offers 30, 50, 80, 150, 250, 500 Mbps and 1 Gbps/500 Mbps options. It has lower entry pricing and stronger value in the 50 Mbps and 80 Mbps tiers.

Cool Side guidance

Choose Nova for cost-sensitive home internet where available. Choose Nexus if your address is on the Nexus network or you prefer the 40/60/100 Mbps progression. Cool Side can help confirm the right option.

Nova offers the lower entry price where available, while Nexus offers a different speed ladder. Cool Side will help match the package to your address and usage needs.

What happens after submission?

Cool Side receives the completed MetroFibre-branded Purchase Order PDF, validates coverage and order readiness, and follows up with the customer directly.

Part of your service includes a free to use router and uncapped data. MetroFibre’s billing cycle is monthly prepaid. You pay for your service in advance each month. A pro rata fee will be calculated for the first month where your service is activated. This will be paid with your activation as soon as you receive your 1st invoice. An invoice will be sent on the 1st of each month and payment is required by latest the 5th of the month to avoid suspension of service.

Installation

We don’t charge an installation fee when you place a service order. If, however, the distance between our boundary box and the installation point in your home is further than 20 metres, we will have to quote you.
